Tia Kofi’s burgeoning pop career continues to go from strength to strength, and after the success of breakout singles ‘Outside In’ and ‘Look What You’ve Done’, the Drag Race UK favourite is treating fans to another track, ‘I Got You’, exclusively via Attitude.

‘I Got You’ is another “banging pop bop” that sees Tia join forces with singer and actor Billy Cullum as the pair address sex and relationship politics over an infectious dance beat.

The track is just one of the undeniable pop gems featured on Tia’s debut EP Part 1: The Damage, which is released this Thursday 2 September.

“As soon as I heard this song I knew it had to be on my debut EP”, Tia tells Attitude. “It’s a banging pop bop, and I love Billy. He’s such a talent and we had such a laugh in the studio recording the track. I can’t wait to get out there and perform this track live.

Tia, who performed at Manchester Pride last weekend in one of the first major UK Pride events to take place since 2019, continues: “It’s so exciting to finally release my EP. It’s a dream come true to be able to release my own music and the reaction to the songs so far has been amazing.

“I had people coming up to me all weekend at Manchester Pride telling me how much they love my songs, which was a little overwhelming to be honest! But I’m in a very happy place with my music and can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Cullum, recently appeared in Channel 4’s acclaimed It’s a Sin, tells Attitude he jumped at the chance to work with Tia on the track.

“I remember going into the studio with Andrea Rocha and we were both talking about how we were in relationships at the time and we were just laughing about ourselves and our way of thinking”, he recalls. “It’s about that push and pull, testing each other and playing games in the early part of a relationship set to an epic sexy dance-pop beat.

“As soon as I heard Tia’s debut ‘Outside In’ I immediately heard Tia on this track and am over the moon to be a part of it. I’m such a fan of Tia’s so this is an epic moment.”
