Exclusive: Cher hints at appearance on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

Could it really be?!

By Will Stroude

It’s no secret that RuPaul is a huge Cher fan, and after after RuPaul’s Drag Race paid tribute to the legendary singer’s career in season 10’s Cher: The Unauthorised Rusical episode, the lady herself has hinted that she could be set for an appearance on the show.

In a world exclusive interview in the October issue of Attitude – available to download and to order globally now – Cher gets very coy indeed when asked whether she’d consider going on the VH1 show.

“I think that’s… I think that’s probably going to be a surprise at some point,” the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again star teases.

“I’ve known [RuPaul] for a long time. I loved his acting. He’s a really good actor and I wish he’d do more of that. He’s a sweet guy, I like him.

“And maybe… maybe that would be a surprise.”

We can feel our wig being snatched already.

Of course, Cher is no stranger to the world of drag, and countless Cher impersonatiors have graced the stages of LGBT venues over the years, including Drag Race star Chad Michaels, who memorably finished as runner-up on seaosn four before going on to lift the crown in the first series of All Stars.

“It just feels natural,” Cher says of her connection with the drag community.

“I was just at the [Sydney Mardi Gras] parade and there were millions of Chers and we just had the best time…”

Sounds like we better get starting those engines…
