Elliot Page, the actor known for roles in films like Juno and Inception, yesterday announced he is trans – and countless celebrities have rushed to voice their support.
The Umbrella Academy star [pictured above in the Netflix show] shared the update in a moving post on Instagram, saying: ““Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot.
“I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.”

Elliot’s partner Emma Portner led the charge in the comments, saying: “love you so much elliot.”
Also commenting underneath the post was ‘Midnight Sky’ singer Miley Cyrus, who said: “Elliot rules!”
Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose added “Love love love you x”, as Pose‘s Indya Moore chimed in “Love you Elliot!” and Still, Alice star Julianne Moore said: “I love you Elliot and I’m so happy for you.”
True Blood‘s Anna Paquin said: “And just to save some time to EVERYONE who is being hateful/transphobic/homophobic YOU CAN ALL FUCK OFF. Elliot is a Fucking warrior and treasure of a human being.”
Meanwhile, a comment from the official Umbrella Academy account reads: “so proud of our superhero!! WE LOVE YOU ELLIOT!!!”
