After eight season of watching a group of bloodthirsty queens battle it out for a crown, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has been cofnirmed as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, where she’ll… watch a group of bloodthirsty queens battle it out for a crown.

The 22-year-old actress, who appears as Arya Stark on the hit HBO fantasy series – which aired its final ever episode on Sunday night (19 May) – will sit alongside RuPaul, Michelle Visage and either Graham Norton or Alan Carr when the British edition of Drag Race airs on BBC Three later this year.

Revealing her excitement at joining the series, Williams said: “What I love the most about drag is the story of the drag queen behind the facade.

“I think that so much of drag comes from a place of real pain and seeing how that transforms into a character is so interesting to me. I love that about art and about drag.”

Williams is the first guest judge to be officially confirmed for Drag Race UK, though it’s previously been reported that Cheryl is set to join the panel, as well as drag legend Paul O’Grady, whose involvement was accidentlally let slip by Carr earlier this year.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, which began filming in London in March will see 10 British queens compete over the course of eight hour-long episodes for the title of ‘Britain’s Next Drag Superstar’.

The queens who’ll be taking part in the inaugural series of Drag Race UK are yet to is yet to be confirmed, but Ru teased during a recent episode of his ‘What’s the Tee’ podcast that viewers shoulf expect big things from the series.

“Oh my goodness, when they see this show, they are going to flip,” he said

“And I predict we will be doing this English edition of Drag Race for many years to come.”
