Glastonbury Festival wants revellers to learn the choreography for a series of Dolly Parton flash mobs planned to take place throughout next week’s event (June 25-29).

The 68-year-old country legend is performing on Sunday afternoon in the coveted ‘Glastonbury Legend’ slot – and the Theatre and Circus arena have teamed up with the Common People Dance Project to create the so-called ‘Dolly Mob’.

Festival-goers are being encouraged to get into the spirit by the learning the choreography and breaking into the dance routine whenever the singer’s classic 1973 hit Jolene is played at Glastonbury, reports Virtual Festivals.

Dolly Parton will take to the stage at Glastonbury on Sunday June 28 at 4.20pm – in between sets from Ed Sheeran and The 1975. She is currently on the UK & Ireland leg of her 17-date ‘Blue Smoke Tour’ in support of new album Blue Smoke – The Best Of.

The special UK edition of the album pairs new studio album Blue Smoke with a second disc featuring some of the 9 to 5 singer’s best-loved hits. The album reached Number 6 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart upon its release last week (June 9).

Glastonbury 2014 will be headlined by Arcade Fire, Metallica and Kasabian, and also includes performances from Lana Del Rey, Blondie and Lily Allen. Tickets for the event are now sold out, but festival coverage will be provided across the weekend on Radio 1 & 1Xtra, 6Music, BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four.
