Dawn French to ‘guest judge’ on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as she talks on-set social distancing

'I think there's going to be Perspex between each judge'

By Jamie Tabberer

Dawn French has said she is going to be a guest judge of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season two.

The Vicar of Dibley star shared the news ahead of the taping, while speaking on the latest episode of Jessie Ware’s podcast Table Manners.

The news follows permanent judge Alan Carr saying on Lorraine that filming on RPDR UK is resuming in “a fortnight.”

“They did originally ask me to be a full-time judge”

In her interview, Dawn said: “Here’s a little scoop I’m going to give you. I’m going to be one of the guest judges.

“They did originally ask me to be a full-time judge, but I couldn’t – I don’t live in London. But I am going to be a guest judge in a couple of weeks.”

The star added: “I think there’s going to be Perspex between each judge kind of thing… That’s a shame, because I really do want to touch Ru!”

Perspex is a solid, transparent brand of plastic. Which, if used, will be… an interesting change.

Asked to comment on Dawn’s claims, a rep for the BBC told Attitude: “Our lips are sealed. Our extra special celebrity judges will be revealed in due course.”

Champagne Kisses singer Jessie also shared on the podcast that RPDR‘s Shea Couleé is to be a guest on next week’s Table Manners.

The first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK aired last year, and was won by The Vivienne.
