legendary actress and author Joan Collins has joined the cast of American Horror Story season 8.

Show creator Ryan Murphy has remained tight-lipped about the show’s upcoming season, so far revealing only that Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates will be returning.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter this week, however, Murphy announced that Joan Collins, known for her role as Alexis Carrington in the original Dynasty, will be joining the FX anthology series.

When asked about casting the upcoming season, Murphy revealed he’s “throwing in Joan Collins” and that he’s “interested” in The Addams Family star Anjelica Huston.

Murphy, who previously hinted that the new series may be set in the future, responded to speculation earlier this year that the upcoming season is called American Horror Story: Radioactive after Twentieth Century Fox, which produces and distributes the show, trademarked the title.

Fans of American Horror Story were left worried about this show’s future earlier this year after it was announced that Ryan Murphy signed an exclusive five-year deal with Netflix to produce new shows.

However, US network FX, which airs the show, insisted that it will continue to air and produce American Horror Story for the foreseeable future.

American Horror Story season eight is expected to premiere on FX this autumn.
