Colton Haynes to be honoured by Human Rights Campaign

By Fabio Crispim

Life for Colton Haynes couldn’t get much better. Just last week he was lucky enough to meet Britney Spears, but we’ve got some even bigger news now.

The Teen Wolf star is set to be honoured by the Human Rights Campaign tonight (August 27) at the group’s gala in Seattle.

Chad Griffin, the HRC President, has credited the actor for “inspiring countless LGBT young people across the country and world to live their lives as their authentic selves.”

Griffin adds, “By simply being open about who he is, Haynes is helping to break down barriers and tear down closet doors.”

Speaking about the honour, Haynes said:

“I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and healthier than I’ve ever been, and that’s what I care about.”

Earlier this month the star opened up in a new interview with Out magazine and revealed that he was told his father killed himself because he came out as gay.
