Caitlyn Jenner says she’s on the hunt for a husband, not a wife

By Ben Kelly

The E! network has released the first trailer for the second season of I Am Cait, in which Caitlyn Jenner is seen relaxing into her new life as a transgender woman.

“I am so comfortable now being myself,” Jenner announces at the top of the clip, which focuses on a nationwide road trip taken by her and other transgender friends to learn more about the cause she has found herself representing.

“There is a million stories out there I need to be told,” Jenner says, as the group is seen setting off on a bus.”

They are joined along the way by daughter Kendall and ex-wife Kris though Jenner is seen to confirm her sexuality by telling friends that she wouldn’t marry a woman again.

“I don’t see dating women in the future. I’ve been there, done that,” she says, “I’ve got three ex-wives.”

“So now you can have an ex-husband?” asks a friend – to which Jenner replies, “That’s right.”

The clip also shows Jenner in heated arguments with her friends over her Republican political views; namely her opposition to same sex marriage – a position she points out was once held by President Obama and Hillary Clinton. “Every conservative guy out there believes in everybody’s rights,” she says, before being met with anger from another woman who shouts, “That is a lie!”

In one poignant moment, when Jenner receives her new drivers license, she ponders the identity she left behind when she transitioned. “Sometimes I feel like I’m throwing old Bruce out the door,” she says, holding back tears. “Maybe he didn’t deserve to be gone.”

I Am Cait premieres on E! on 6 March.
