Brighton Pride 2016 date and theme revealed

By Will Stroude

We might be less than a week into 2016, but we’re already getting excited for the summer and the highlight of this year’s LGBT calendar – Brighton Pride 2016!

The seaside LGBT mecca is home to one of the biggest and boldest Pride events in the country , and as the event’s headline gay media partner we’ll be working with the organisers throughout 2016 to ensure that Brighton Pride 2016 is one to remember – and what’s more, we’ll be getting our dancing shoes on with you all at Preston Park on Pride Saturday!

After the phenomenal success of 2015, which saw £100,000 raised for community good causes and 200,000 people enjoy the city’s community parade to date, organisers have announced that this year’s event will take place over the weekend of August 5th-7th – so there’s plenty of time to get out the glue-gun and start working on that flimsy yet fabulous outfit.

This year’s event will continue to celebrate the city’s colourful character with the own ‘Carnival Of Diversity’, while the new campaigning theme of ‘Uniting Nations’ looks both to home and abroad, reflecting the festival’s on-going commitment to campaigning for global LGBT+ rights.

Tickets for Brighton Pride 2016 (August 5-7) are now available here, and you can express your interest in entering this year’s community Parade 2016 here.

Check out some of the highlights from last year’s event below – we’ll see you in August!
