Big Brother contestant Cameron Cole came out as gay on national television last night (October 5).

The 18-year-old housemate came out while discussing his sexuality with Lewis Flanagan after contestant Cian revealed to housemates that he had a crush on Cole and that he’d “eat him alive” during Thursday’s episode (October 4).

Speaking to Lewis last night, Cole expressed frustration over the situation and admitted to feeling awkward in the house.

He said: “I just wish he wouldn’t have f*cking said it. Even if he’d just said it to you, that’d be fine but to say it to the whole f*cking group… Everyone’s awkward today with me. Every single person. Conversations are just weird.”

He continued: “I don’t even know what the f*ck to say to him. I don’t even know where to start… Everyone thinks I’m acting weird because someone said they like me. They don’t understand that there’s more layers to that.”

During another conversation later on, Cole encouraged Lewis to ask him the question “Are you gay?” to which Cole replied: “Yes.”

The 18-year-old vlogger then attempted to hide under his hood before Lewis encouraged him to pull it down and gave him a high-five, congratulating him for coming out.

Viewers praised Cole’s bravery for coming out on television and shared their support on the social media site.

Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
