Attitude’s Paris Lees examines porn for blind people in new BBC Three sex show

By Fabio Crispim

Our very own Paris Lees launches her brand new show, the Paris Lees Sex Show, on BBC Three today, with the first episode looking into porn for blind and visually impaired people.

The first episode features the world’s first ever braille porn club and tackles the difficult subject of sexuality and disability – with some surprising insights.

After searching online for blind porn and initially being disheartened at the fetishised take on the disabilities, Attitude’s Editor-at-Large eventually found audio described porn and then braille porn by a Swedish artist called Nina Linde.

Paris say: “I was disappointed to see blind and visually impaired people treated as little more than a fetish – and, as a transgender woman, I know how that feels.”

She didn’t stop there though, from that she started the world’s first braille porn book club.

“We invited a group of blind and visually impaired men and women from various walks of life to give us their verdict on braille porn,” she explains.

Paris speaks to actress Amelia Cavallo who tells her: “There’s an overarching assumption with disability that disabled people don’t, can’t or shouldn’t have sex. So porn isn’t really geared towards disabled people.”

Paris ends the article by saying that pornographers need to be more creative when it comes to creating porn for disabled people.

Across the series, the show will look in to various aspects of sexuality featuring fetish, as well as an interview with Years and Years frontman Olly Alexander.

The Paris Lees Sex Show is available to watch over at BBC Three now.
