Armie Hammer, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders cast in ‘Death on the Nile’

Kenneth Branagh will be back as the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot

By Steve Brown

The full cast of the upcoming movie adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile has been released.

The new film – which follows on from the 2017 Murder on the Orient Express – sees Kenneth Branagh returning both director and the iconic Belgian, moustached detective Hercule Poirot.

Just like Orient Express, the new film features a stellar cast including the likes of Armie Hammer, Gal Gadot, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Annette Benning.

Other cast members include Sophie Okonedo, Emma McKey, Rose Leslie, Letitia Wright, Tom Bateman, Russell Brand and Ali Fazal.

The film will follow Poirot, who is holidaying in Cairo, when he is approached by successful socialite Linnet Doyle, who requests his help in deterring her friend Jacqueline de Bellefort from hounding and stalking her.

After a murder happens while cruising on the Nile, the famed detective sets about to discover the killer.

The new film is set to be released in 2020.
