I feel like we should just keep saying gay and Florida so we should we as much rainbow as possible while that idiocy is being debated," says Anne.

Anne Hathaway has said ‘gay rights’ while also teaching us all a nifty way of eating a cupcake mess-free.

Appearing on The Kelly Clarkson show earlier this week the Oscar-winning actress said it was important to keep saying ‘gay’ in the wake of the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill in Florida.

The moment comes about after the ‘Since U Been Gone’ singer brings up Hathaway’s party-stopping cupcake eating method.

“I’m in a rainbow mood”

While Clarkson goes for a red velvet cupcake, Hathaway chooses one with rainbow sprinkles.

“I’m kind of feeling I’m in a rainbow mood. I feel like we should just keep saying gay and Florida, and we should wear as much rainbow as possible, while that idiocy is being debated,” she says to cheers from the studio audience.

Florida passed its hateful ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill earlier this month, banning discussions of LGBTQ people from elementary schools across the state.

Elsewhere in the episode, Anne shows off her impressive vocal skills (after her Oscar-winning turn in Les Misérables, of course)

Taking part in the ‘Sing That Name That Tune’ challenge, after being bested by Anne in a couple of tunes, Clarkson begs the band to play something she knows.

As they play the intro to ‘Since U Been Gone’s chorus, Kelly, who seems unable to recognise her own song, falls to the floor as Anne steps forward and belts out the banger.
