Alden Ehrenreich cast as the new Han Solo

By Fabio Crispim

With the upcoming Star Wars: Rogue One film due in December this year and then Star Wars: Episode 8 set for a release next year, the hype for the franchise couldn’t be any higher, or could it?

In 2018 we’ll see a Star Wars standalone spinoff film focusing on the life of Han Solo before the events of the original trilogy. When it was announced earlier this year the biggest question on everyone’s mind was: Who’s going to play Han Solo?

Well, look no more as Alden Ehrenreich is set to play the famous character in the prequel film. Known for his roles in 2013’s Beautiful Creatures and the upcoming comedy-film, Hail, Caesar!

StarWars

Digital Spy reports that Ehrenreich landed the role after beating Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Scott Eastwood, Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor.

The role, previously played by Harrison Ford, has become a household name. No information has been released about the film other than it exploring Han’s earlier life.

With high expectations, do you think Ehrenreich will be able to pull the character off?

We’ll have to wait until May 25 2018 to find out.
