Watch Eden Hunter’s music video for ‘The Circus Man’ on Attitude (EXCLUSIVE)

Attitude is exclusively premiering the music video for Eden Hunter’s lead single ‘The Circus Man’, taken from her EP of the same name, released today (13 March).

Hunter previously appeared on the late RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne’s charity single ‘Your Light Will Shine’ and performed at last year’s Attitude Awards.

Speaking about the new project, Hunter said the EP was shaped by difficult experiences in both her personal life and career.

“I knew I always wanted to write and produce a project like The Circus Man – it’s the type of art I adore,” she said. “It just took some sad, sad experiences to happen in my career and life for me to discover exactly where this piece of work was going to come from.”

According to Hunter, the EP explores the emotional intensity of being an artist navigating the music industry.

“The Circus Man EP is my acceptance of the obsession, passion and pain of being an artist trusting in the industry where everything can be romanticised, even the worst possible situations,” she explained.

Hunter also said the record reflects on how power imbalances can affect artists.

“In a sense that’s exactly what I’ve done – hand in hand with calling out the hard truths of losing who you are off the back of the wrong person being in a position of power.”

Describing the overall tone of the project, she added: “It’s playful, it’s guttural, it’s theatrical – it’s everything The Circus Man in my story ruined me for… everything I love about who I am.”

Who is Eden Hunter?

Hunter, who was named Mighty Hoopla‘s Emerging Artist of the Year in 2022, has previously sold out Colours Hoxton and performed on the Leicester Square Stage at London Pride. As well as her solo music, she has also worked as a songwriter and co-producer on projects including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
