11 pictures of Attitude’s Matt Lister that prove hairy is hot

By Will Stroude

Attitude’s landmark Body Issue is available to download and in shops now, revealing the shocking truths about how gay men really feel about their bodies and providing a celebration of masculinity in all its forms as eleven guys with very different body types dare to go bare.

The landmark issue also sees former British canoeist and Attitude fitness columnist Matt Lister discuss his relationship with his body, revealing how after years of feeling self-conscious about his hirsute frame as a teen, he decided to ditch the razor and embrace his body hair in all its glory.

“I was fine with all my hair making me look older than my friends, but wished my hairy back would go away”, the 24-year-old British Athletics Commission LGB ambassador says in our brand new issue. “I asked for laser-hair removal for my birthday – a present I never got, thank goodness.”

Thanks goodness indeed.

After coming out in 2012, Matt left behind the world of professional sport this year for a career in modelling – and based on the evidence from his Attitude shoot last year, it’s not hard to see why he’s proved such a hit in front of the lens.

“I hope I can inspire others to just ‘let it grow’,” he says. “It’s way more fun.”

So without further ado, here are 11 pictures of Matt that prove when it comes to body hair, plucking isn’t always preferable.

You can see more of Matt and read about how he learnt to love his body hair in Attitude’s brand new Body Issue, available to download and in shops now. Available internationally from newsstand.co.uk/attitude.
