Queen to release new album with unheard Mercury songs
By Sam Rigby
Queen have confirmed that they will release a new album featuring previously unheard vocals from Freddie Mercury.
Queen Forever – featuring tracks recorded prior to Mercury’s death in 1991 – will be released before the end of the year, according to Brian May.
May told BBC Radio Wales that the album is full of “big, big ballads”.
“It is quite emotional. It is the big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound,” he explained.
The guitarist is currently restoring the songs with bandmate Roger Taylor, but admitted that they have had to “start from scratch” as they only had “scraps”.
He said that with modern technology, he can finally hear how the material would have sounded if they had finished it.
Last year, May told Classic Rock Magazine that Mercury’s unreleased material includes a duet with Michael Jackson.
