Tanning brand Mantan have brought together a new range of products to suit every guy

Orange, tango, Oompa Loompa, strange synthetic coconut smells were a few of the words that popped into the young entrepreneur’s head, when he started working in the tanning industry.

Lee Jordan used to see all kinds of tanning failures, purely because it seemed the colour wasn’t right for a guy’s skin tone.

“Woman always looked better using self-tan vs woman and I wanted to know why,” he said.

With a background in running successful tanning salons all over the country, Lee had the urge to create his very own men’s self-tanning range.

He said: “I discovered men’s skin undertones are very different to a woman and that there were no products out there on the market.

“I wanted to create a range made just for guys with a refreshing masculine scent so men can take ownership of their tan and feel confident when going to purchase.”

Working closely with a UK manufacturer, Lee pulled together a compelling range of products – known as Mantan – to suit every guy skin-tone from fair to dark.

It’s been designed with a unique undertone that creates a masculinized sun-bronzed look.

The entire range has even been tailored towards men in terms of its unique scent, which is orientated around the subtle but enticing aroma of aloe leaf popularly used in male aftershaves.

Our carefully crafted range of products is one of Mantan’s best selling points.

In addition to our basic everyday product, Mantan Original, we have designed something specifically for different domains of the modern man’s life – from our Express range, aimed at providing tanning on-the-go for those with busy lifestyles, to our Definition range that has been formulated to complement the sculpted, muscular physiques that are fast becoming a requirement for men today, Mantan is uniquely suited to men.

Six months on and Mantan has an established e-commerce site with products flying out the door.

Lee added: “To keep costs down I pick and pack everything in-house and this way I can ensure quality and customer service is at the  forefront of my business.” 

The year anniversary is up and Mantan is selling in retailers Fortnum and Mason, Amazon, Feel Unique, Selfridges coming soon and with other high street retailers in discussion.

“I feel incredibly proud of Mantan and it’s just great to see guys wear a tan that actually suits their skin tone and feel more comfortable going out to stores to purchase,” Lee concluded.
