Doritos’ new ad shows a dad embracing his gay son’s relationship and it’s oh so emotional

Can we get a movie-length version?

The striking realism, the soft focus, the yearning looks – Doritos Mexico’s new ad is more artistic short film than, say, half time at the Super Bowl.

Did we mention it features an LGBTQ storyline with a happy ending?

All it’s missing is a Troye Sivan song and an extra 78 minutes and it’d be a classic LGBTQ movie!

“The best gift you can give this Christmas is to accept someone as they are”

The beautiful ad depicts a father turning to Reddit for advice on how to address the subject of his son’s same-sex relationship.

Named ‘The Best Gift’, it was shared on YouTube over the Christmas season with the tagline ‘the best gift you can give this Christmas is to accept someone as they are’.

According to designtaxi.com, it is based on a true story, was created by Slap Buenos Aires and directed by Primo Mexico’s Nico Veiga.
