Barrowman to ‘gay kiss’ critics: ‘Bitterness will make you ugly’
By Josh Haggis
John Barrowman has hit back at those who criticised his “gay
kiss” at this year’s Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
During the ceremony on Wednesday evening (July 23), which was watched by an
estimated one billion viewers worldwide, the out gay actor/TV presenter bounded up
to a man in a kilt, planted a kiss on his lips and then skipped off with him
hand-in-hand.
Meanwhile, cries of “Here’s to equality in Scotland!” were heard in the
background. Click here

Barrowman has since received a wave of homophobic abuse on Twitter, with some
users labelling him a “fag” and calling the kiss “disgusting” and “fucking
embarrassing”.
In series of tweets made yesterday, Barrowman defended the “gay kiss,” telling
critics that their “bitterness” will make them “old and ugly”.
