Apple accused of removing lesbian couple from their Mothers Day adverts

Apple has recently been accused of removing a lesbian couple from its Mothers Day advertisements, according to 9News.

The advert was a video tribute to “all mothers through the eyes of iPhone users worldwide” and featured a number of shots of parents with their children.

French magazine Jeanne noticed that the lesbian couple were featured in the Australian, English, Mexican and Canadian versions of the ad but were missing from the French and German version which instead only showed one of the women.

The couple featured in the advert, Melanie and Vanessa Roy, posted a photo of themselves with their children on Instagram earlier this month and revealed that the “Roy Tribe” was lucky enough to be featured on Apple’s advert.

The pair also have a blog called Mommy Squared where they urge people to “stop and think before passing judgement on different families.”

“We are not all the same and that’s what makes the world go round,” they write.
