The mother of a trans man has shown support for her son by making an announcement in a local newspaper.
When Kai – formerly Elizabeth Ann – was born, his parents announced the birth in a local newspaper. Now, 19 years later, Kai’s mother, Yolanda, has retracted the old announcement and made a new one celebrating her son’s female-to-male transition.

“I needed to show my son I support him 100 percent and wanted to let the world know that,” Yolanda told the Courier-Mail.
Kai went on to thank his mother for the gesture, saying: “I am so happy with what she has done. This last week has changed everything for me. I am still me but I am more me than I was a few days ago and feel free.”
