Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after homophobic graffiti was sprayed on walls around homes in St Helier, Jersey.

Six homes were vandalised with black spray paint in the area of Rouge Bouillon, Springfield, and near Haute Vallée School over the weekend.

The areas include St Mark’s Road, Chestnut Farm, Clairvale Road, Byron Lane, and Byron Road.

It is believed the malicious damage to the properties took place between Friday (28 October) and Saturday (29 October).

The graffiti includes homophobic abuse, other abusive slurs, and in one case ‘no LGBTQ’ was brandished in black paint across white walls.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen someone in the surrounding areas with a spray can of paint or anyone with CCTV footage to come forward.

Urging islanders with more information to get in touch, officers said: “Anyone who may have seen someone in the area with a spray can of paint or who has any private CCTV or any information that could help the investigation is asked to contact police.”

Police can be contacted on 01534 612612, or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or anonymously at crimestoppers-uk.org
