Polestar unveils Formula 2030 concept car: design, direction and models
Formula 2030 gives a first look at design elements that will feature in the future Polestar 2 and Polestar 7

Polestar has unveiled its Formula 2030 concept car, offering a first look at the brand’s future design direction and upcoming models.
The concept gives an insight into how Polestar’s cars will look in the future, under Head of Design Philipp Römers.
Formula 2030 gives a first look at design elements that will feature in the future Polestar 2, planned for 2027, and Polestar 7, planned for 2028.
An “evolution not revolution” of Polestar’s design
According to Römers, the concept is an “evolution not revolution” of Polestar’s design, keeping existing Scandinavian design elements and recognisable features such as its “familiar Dual Blade headlights”.
Speaking in a news release, Römers said that the car’s design was already “so strong it was obvious we needed a bold evolution not revolution of what came before”.
“Formula 2030 delivers this, showcasing our future while respecting brand-defining elements like the familiar Dual Blade headlights, ensuring it remains recognisably a Polestar with a strong, characterful identity.”
Polestar future models
The Swedish electric car brand currently has five models in its line-up: Polestar 2, 3, 4 coupé, 4 SUV and 5. Future models include the Polestar 2 successor, planned for 2027, the Polestar 7 compact SUV, planned for 2028, and the Polestar 6 roadster.
Polestar currently manufactures its cars across North America and Asia, but plans to expand production to Europe, including for the Polestar 7.
Beyond the visuals, the brand is focused on sustainability. Its targets include halving greenhouse gas emissions per vehicle sold by 2030 and becoming climate-neutral across its value chain by 2040.
Partner of the 2026 Attitude Awards
Polestar has been named the official car partner of the 2026 Attitude Awards, marking the 15th edition of the annual event – which takes on a new billing as the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, supported by M&S and electrified by Polestar.
The event will take place on 7 October at Camden’s legendary Roundhouse.
