Meet the LGBTQ+ heroes changing the world for good

The PEUGEOT Attitude PRIDE Awards, supported by British Airways has returned for its ninth year, honouring 10 everyday LGBTQ+ heroes and global community icons.
The Peninsula London played host to the event today (Friday 4 July), where seven inspirational queer people from the UK and wider Europe were honoured – including three flown in for the event by British Airways. Rounding of the ten were our three Pride ICONS.
Comedian Tom Allen hosted the event, which saw the 10 winners awarded for their work in making the world that little bit better for all of us, while singer Frankie Grande and Pride ICON winner Andy Bell Young gave two special performances to the hundreds-strong audience.
Andy Bell – Pride ICON
The Erasure frontman has been a visible, unapologetically gay pop icon for four decades, breaking boundaries and championing LGBTQ+ representation since the 1980s.

Yungblud – Pride ICON
The genre-blurring musician was celebrated for his fearless self-expression and for giving voice to queer youth and outsiders through his music and activism.
Dame Kelly Holmes – Pride ICON
Double Olympic gold medallist turned mental health and LGBTQ+ advocate, Kelly was celebrated for her honesty, visibility, and commitment to helping others feel less alone.
Carla Antonelli – Pride Award Winner
Spain’s first openly trans senator and a lifelong activist, Carla was honoured for her political trailblazing and fearless advocacy for trans rights across Europe.
Caroline Paige MBE – Pride Award Winner
The first openly transgender officer to serve in the British Armed Forces, Caroline was recognised for her courage, resilience, and work supporting LGBTQ+ veterans.
Erwann Le Hô – Pride Award Winner
President of Nice’s LGBTQ+ centre and host of Lou Queernaval, Erwann was recognised for a decade of community leadership and Pride activism in France.
Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) – Pride Award Winner
The historic grassroots group behind a landmark moment of queer-solidarity activism in the 1980s, LGSM were honoured for their lasting legacy of unity and allyship.
Miss Tess Tickle – Pride Award Winner
A drag queen and charity founder from northeast England, Tess was recognised for raising millions to support vulnerable people in her local community.
Mohamed Ali ‘Dali’ Aguerbi – Pride Award Winner
A Tunisian refugee now based in Malta, Mohamed was honoured for his work creating safe spaces and support networks for queer migrants across Europe.
Tracey Howe – Pride Award Winner
Following the death of her wife, Tracey began walking Britain’s coastline in her memory – raising thousands and spreading messages of love, grief, and hope.
