The Simpsons get a French makeover – watch

By Nick Levine

simpsonsThe Simpsons

have been given a Gallic-style makeover by French animator/film director Sylvain Chomet.

Chomet, the Oscar-nominated director of The Illusionist and The Triplets of Belleville, re-imagines the animated family for The Simpsons‘ couch gag in an episode airing in the US this Sunday (March 9).

Chomet gives each member of the cartoon clan glasses and shows Lisa playing the accordion. Meanwhile, Homer is seen eating “les escargots” and Bart stuffs a goose to make pâté.

The Simpsons is now on its 25th season and has been renewed for a 26th by US network Fox. Guest stars during this season include Daniel Radcliffe, Anderson Cooper, Elisabeth Moss, Gordon Ramsay and Kristen Wiig.
