Shemar Moore responds to sexuality rumours: ‘Send me your girlfriend and see what happens’

By Will Stroude

Shemar Moore has once again denied rumours surrounding his sexuality, challenging people to send their girlfriends to his house for definitive proof that he is a straight man.

Speaking to BET on Saturday (December 10), the former Criminal Minds star branded the speculation “silly”, before reasserting his heterosexuality.

“If you’re gay, you’re gay. I’m not, and I know that and I’m very comfortable with who I am and I love women. I’ve dated plenty of them”, Moore said.

The 46-year-old then sent a challenge to people who continue to question his sexuality.

“If you think I’m gay, send your girlfriend over to my house for the weekend and see what happens. For real. You can call that arrogant if you want to. I just call it confident. You can call me whatever you want, but you don’t know me.”

He continued: “I have fans that are gay, men that come up to me, and they’re inspired by me, or they like me as an entertainer, and when they want to give me a hug or take pictures with me, what, am I supposed to not put my arm around them or stand next to them?

“And if the man next to me in the picture is gay, that makes me gay? That’s just simple-minded ignorance, and I don’t play that.”

Moore previously rebuffed claims that he was gay in March this year, posting a picture of of his abs on Instagram alongside the caption: “Let the controversy begin!!! He’s straight..He’s gay..He’s sweet..He’s arrogant…Well, I would just like to say I LOVE women and life and people!!!”
