Russell Tovey talks sex scenes: ‘I only touch balls if it’s in the script’
By Josh Haggis

Russell Tovey has openly discussed the more awkward parts of filming explicit sex scenes.
Tovey, who can currently be seen in the second season of HBO’s gay-themed drama Looking, has explained that he finds it hardest to do sex scenes with straight male actors because he doesn’t want them to think he’s “taking advantage”.
“It’s easier doing those scenes with another gay man than it is a straight man, the same way I feel fine doing sex scenes with a woman,” Tovey told BigGayPictureShow.
He continued: “When I’m doing a sex scene with an actor who is straight, I feel a huge sense of responsibility not to feel like I’m taking advantage or anything. Like, I’ll only touch their balls if it says so in the script.”
Discussing his beauty regime when it comes to stripping off, Tovey teased that he thinks “erect nipples” add value to a sex scene.
“I keep the bush low, trim the chest hair and I like to get the nipples more erect, so I’ll tweak them a bit too. Erect nipples add so much to a scene I think.
Meanwhile, to see Tovey’s method in practice, check him out stripping down to his birthday suit on a recent episode of Looking.
