Plot and first picture of ‘Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie’ revealed

After months of teasing, the first official picture and plot details for Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie have been revealed.
Fox Searchlight Pictures and BBC Films are shooting on location in the UK and south of France for seven weeks, and Patsy (Joanna Lumley) and Edina (Jennifer Saunders) can already be seen enjoying the high life ahead of their first big screen outing with some bubbly aboard a yacht.
The movie adaptation of the classic BBC sitcom will reunite Lumley and Saunders with Julia Sawalha, Jane Horrocks and June Whitfield and is set to include appearances Kathy Burke, Kelly Hoppen and Kate Moss.
“I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming. We are all on the Sanatogen and hoping for the best,” said Jennifer Saunders.
Fox Searchlight Pictures’ president of production Claudia Lewis added: “We’re so happy to join Jennifer, Joanna and the Absolutely Fabulous team on their latest and greatest adventures!”
An official plot synopsis teases that Patsy and Edina end up in the south of France on the run from the paps after the desperate duo of are involved in a typically embarrassing public incident.
“Edina and Patsy are still oozing glitz and glamour, living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots. But when they are blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party, they become entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi.
“Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high life forevermore!”
