The surprise Beyoncé-style release follows the leak of 11 demos taken from Rebel Heart, which appeared online earlier this week.

“I would prefer my fans to hear completed versions of some of the songs instead of the incomplete tracks that are circulating. Please consider these six songs as an early Christmas gift,” said Madonna in a statement accompanying the release.

Madonna’s last studio album, MDNA, was released in 2012 and reached number one in the US and UK. She scored her 13th and most recent UK chart-topping single with 4 Minutes in 2008.

Madonna’s recent collaborator Natalia Kills recently revealed that fans can expect “incredible lyrics” and “beautiful melodies” from her new album – read more here.
