Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka have been cast in American Horror Story: Freak Show.

The couple, who tied the knot in September, will appear in Ryan Murphy’s hit horror show in separate storylines.

Burtka will make an appearance in the season finale as a love interest for Jessica Lange’s character, Elsa Mars, while Harris will play a chameleon-like salesman in the final two episodes of the season, reports TVLine.

Meanwhile, it’s also been confirmed that Lily Rabe will be reprising her role as Sister Mary Eunice McKee from season two of the horror anthology series, Asylum, and will join Freak Show later in its 13-episode run.

Rabe’s storyline will be interconnected with that of fan favourite Pepper, played by Naomi Grossman), who also previously appeared in Asylum.

American Horror Story: Freak Show airs on FX in the US. In the UK, the show airs on Tuesdays on FOX at 10pm.
