First look at Amazon Prime’s new trans-themed series

The first trailer for Amazon Prime’s new transgender-themed comedy-drama series has been released.

Transparent is a ten-episode series that centres on the Pfefferman family as they get to grips with the news that Mort, the family’s husband and father, is transitioning into a woman named Maura.

“I am beyond excited to share Transparent with the world through Amazon,” said the show’s Emmy-nominated writer and director, Jill Soloway. “They’ve been so supportive through this incredible process. Artistically, it’s been a dream come true. I absolutely got to make the show I wanted to make,” she added.

The series boasts an impressive including Girls actress Gaby Hoffman, Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein, and Parks and Recreation‘s Kathryn Hahn.

Transparent will debut on Friday, September 26 exclusively on Prime Instant Video in the US and UK.
