Jamie Campbell, the real-life inspiration behind the recent Amazon Studios movie Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, has revealed there have been “conversations” about a sequel.

Campbell was originally the subject of 2011 documentary Jamie: Drag Queen At 16. It was made into a stage play, and now a film starring Max Harwood and Richard E. Grant.

Speaking on the red carpet at last week’s Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar, Jamie said the possibility of a part two was “amazing.”

“You think it’s going to stop, and then….”

“We’ll see what happens,” he said. “A few little conversations have been had… but there’s no exclusive on anything yet.”

Asked if he’d be up for contributing to the writing of a sequel, Jamie said: “That’s another conversation that’s been had! I don’t know whether it would follow my story exactly again, or follow something else.”

Of the possibility of Jamie continuing on, the star said: “It’s amazing – it’s just getting bigger and bigger. You think it’s going to stop, and then…”

At the ETAJ premiere in London last month, Jamie told Attitude of the film: “It’s going to 220 countries around the world! I think about all those gay boys, or anyone who’s in a little town that’s not accepting, or a country where it’s illegal to be gay, watching this film with their earphones in, in their bedrooms, knowing there are people out there who can do it.”

Attitude has approached Amazon Studios for comment.
