Drag Race All Star contestant accuses show of ‘manipulating situations’ *SPOILERS*

By Will Stroude

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 2

contestant Phi Phi O’Hara has slammed the show and its fans after receiving abuse online following this week’s episode.

While season six champion Bianca Del Rio recently praised the show during an interview which also covered RuPaul’s recent Emmy win, Phi Phi has reported a very different experience of her time on the drag competition.

This week’s episode of All Stars saw Phi Phi, who had hoped to redeem her name after being the villain of the show’s fourth season, made a series of negative comments about Alyssa Edwards throughout the episode. Once Alyssa was eliminated, a number of trolls began harassing Phi Phi.

Phi Phi also accused the show of creating trolls, “at the expense of [contestants] lives.”

She continued to accuse the show of manipulating “situations for ratings” before revealing that she regrets doing the “bogus show.”

“RPDR has broke me,” she added.

Later, the drag queen took to Instagram to criticise the show further in a lengthy post.

“I am tired of the hurt, heartache, pain, death threats, and threats of violence I have received because a few story producers felt it was opkay to go to bed at night cozy with their paychecks from manupilated [sic[ and twisting the context of my words,” she wrote.

She continued: From day 1 in the confessions I told my story producer I will not say XYandZ because I did that the first time and it got me in trouble. This time I watched myself and they still played and twisted when I am stating facts as I am playing mind games.”

“I am so grateful for the doors that RPDR has opened but I have learned now that “family” is just a word used to sugar coat and mask the demons of the machine.”

Phi Phi isn’t the first contestant to openly criticise the show. Fellow season four queen, Willam, recently spoke to Attitude about Drag Race, and suggested that certain contestants were given special privileges, such as being able to record their entrances twice if they weren’t happy with the first one.
