Could Queer as Folk US be making a comeback?

It’s already been decade since Queer as Folk’s US sister show ended, but could it soon be making a comeback?!
After the show’s cast and creators reunited for a panel at the ATX Festival in Texas and said they were open to bringing the show back, one of its stars has reiterated that they were “serious” about re-booting the seminal gay drama series, which ran for five season on Showtime from 2000-05.
Peter Paige – who played flamboyant series regular Emmett Honeycutt – told Entertainment Weekly: “We were all serious. We’d love to do it. It’s not our choice, you know what I mean?
“There are other powers that be that control that material and have to put up the millions and millions of dollars and have to decide if that’s the business model they want to engage in at any given time.
“It’s amazing to think 10 years after we ended, the show is still being found and still circulating around the world. It’s just incredible.”
At the panel event last week, the show’s writer and producer Daniel Lipman teased the possibility of exploring what the character were up to now, a decade later.
“We’d be open to it, depending on the venue of a reboot,” he said.
“I think what would be interesting would be to explore our characters who are now in their 40s and bringing in a new generation and seeing how that mix would go.
“As an example, we were talking if Gus — Brian and Lindsay’s child who is now say, 17, the age that Justin was — and if he was gay. How different his views would be from his father.
“That kind of thing would be an interesting thing to explore. People who are now mid-teens and 20s and possibly in their 30s have a very different view of what it’s like being gay.”
The cast already reunited earlier this year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show’s final episode. With it looking like any potential reboot might be some way off, we guess we’ll have to just make do with re-watching that iconic scene until then…
