Check out Tom Daley art made out of homophobic tweets

By Sam Rigby

Manchester-based artist Conor Collins has created a portrait of Tom Daley using homophobic tweets sent to him after he came out last year.

The diving star spoke about his sexuality in a YouTube video posted in December, and is in a relationship with screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.

Collins – who debuted his completed piece earlier this month – said that he doesn’t intend to sell the art.

He tweeted: “Been told there are articles saying ive sold my Tom Daley piece! I’ve not!! Its not my intention to make money from this piece!”

Tom retweeted the portrait after Collins posted him a picture of the completed piece.

Earlier this month, Tom announced that he will open his own diving academy in London in a bid to “inspire the next generation of divers”.
