Billy Eichner cried when he heard Beyoncé sing in The Lion King remake.

The American Horror Story actor is starring the new Disney CGI remake of the 1994 animated classic as Timon, the friendly Meerkat buddy of Simba – who will be voiced by Donald Glover.

It was rumoured that the iconic ‘Halo’ singer would also be joining the cast and was quickly confirmed she would be voicing Simba’s childhood friend and subsequent lover Nala.

Beyoncé is also set to record new versions of original songs alongside Sir Elton John – who wrote the music for the animated classic alongside Tim Rice.

And now, Billy – who joined Ira Madison III and Luis Virtel on their ‘Keep It’ podcast – revealed that listening to Beyoncé sing ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’ made him cry.

He said: “Beyoncé is definitely in the movie because I’ve seen a rough cut.

“And I’ve heard her sing ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’ with Donald Glover and I’m telling you, it’s fucking good.

“And that was never my favourite song to be totally honest… I liked it when Elton John sang it. I love Elton John.

“I don’t want to give too much away about that, they’re very, they do not want us talking about it.

“I will just say that honestly, it made me cry and I was not expecting that.”

The Lion King – which also sees James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa – will be released in July.
