Amazon Prime’s new transgender-themed comedy-drama series has premiered in full online today (September 26).

Transparent is a ten-episode series that centres on the Pfefferman family as they get to grips with the news that Mort, the family’s husband and father, is transitioning into a woman named Maura.

Created by Jill Soloway, whose previous credits include writing for Six Feet Under, Transparent‘s cast includes Girls actress Gaby Hoffman, Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein and Parks and Recreation‘s Kathryn Hahn.

Amazon Studios’ Vice President Roy Price said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to bring this poignant, funny and beautifully-crafted series to Amazon Prime customers and to the world. It’s been an honour to partner with such a passionate storyteller as Jill Soloway to bring her vision for Transparent to life and we can’t wait for everyone to meet the Pfeffermans.”

All ten episodes of Transparent are now available on Amazon Prime Instant Video in the UK, US and Germany.
