Andy Mientus has hit back at a biphobia troll who denied the existence of bisexuality, Gay Star News reports.

Mientus, best known for his role in DC’s The Flash, shared an image on Instagram this week.

The snap features Mientus holding a sign that reads, “I am an out, bisexual (seriously) theatre-maker.”

“I fight for diversity in ALL its forms, in all aspects of theatre-making (casting, creative, administrative, as a means to evaluate underrepresented voices.”

The image spurred biphobic comments, with one user writing: “Bisexualty don’t exist” and “People are gay or straight if he in a relationship with a man he is gay this is how I see it.”

Mientus hit back at the user, writing: “Are you devoid of sexuality when you are single?”

“Are people only gay or straight if they are in relationships? Furthermore, have you ever considered that (gasp) not all relationships are monogamous?”

Fans backed the actor and many praised him for helping them come to terms with their own sexuality.

Mientus is currently travelling the United States on Wicked’s National Tour.
