Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale star Luke Perry has died at the age of 52.
The actor shot to fame as teen heartthrob Dylan McKay in the 90s American TV show and most recently portrayed Fred Andrews in Riverdale.
He also starred in Spin City in 1997 were he portrayed a gay character as well as playing Jack’s crush on Will & Grace.
Now, just under a week after suffering from a stroke, the actor has tragically passed away according to a statement from his representatives which reads: “[Perry] was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.”
Hundreds of celebrities took to Instagram to pay tribute to the actor and the LGBTQ organisation GLAAD named him a ‘friend to the LGBT+ community’.
They wrote on Facebook along with a picture of the actor attending their annual media awards in 2017: “The news of Luke Perry’s death is absolutely devastating.
“He was a friend to our organisation and to the LGBTQ community.
“Our hearts go out to his loved ones.”
