Heartstopper stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke have melted hearts once again after marching together at Pride in London.

The actors, both 18, have been propelled to fame this summer after starring as school-age friends-turned-boyfriends Nick Nelson (Connor) and Charlie Spring (Locke) in Netflix’s smash-hit LGBTQ series, based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novels.

Following May’s announcement that Heartstopper will return for a second and third series, Connor and Locke were among the 30,000 people marching in the annual Pride in London parade on Saturday (2 July), where they were seen holding hands, hugging and interacting with fans along the parade route.

Former Attitude cover star Locke identifies as gay, while Connor has stated that he doesn’t feel the need to publicly “label” his sexuality while remaining a vocal champion of LGBTQ equality.

The pair were joined at Pride in London by their Heartstopper castmates Sebastian Croft (who plays Ben Hope), Tobie Donovan (Isaac Henderson), Corrina Brown (Tara Jones), Kizzy Edgell (Darcy Olsson), Rhea Norwood (Imogen Heaney) and Jenny Walser (Tori Spring).

In a sweet moment that’s already inspired fan artwork online, Connor was seen giving Locke – who had a Progress Pride flag wrapped around him – a piggy-back along the route.

Connor was pictured at the event sporting a charity t-shirt co-designed by co-star Sebastian Croft and artist Kieran Blakey with Everpress to raise money for LGBTQ refugee charity Rainbow Railroad, bearing the slogan ‘Queer was always here’.

This year’s Pride in London marks the 50th anniversary of Pride in the UK, with hundreds of thousands of people expected to take to the streets of the capital after 2020 and 2021’s events were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
