BBC Glow Up judge Dominic Skinner is set to host the Attitude Pride Awards 2022, in association with Magnum, as our annual celebration of everyday LGBTQ heroes and community trailblazers returns for a sixth time.

Make-up guru and TV personality Dominic will join Attitude at the luxurious Langham Hotel in London this Thursday 28 July to help honour six inspirational – and sometimes unsung – queer people who have worked tirelessly in the third sector, triumphed over tragedy, championed rights or challenged stigma in the face of adversity.

For the first time, newly in partnership with Magnum, four Pride Icons – one each from the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands – will also be honoured, and as always, award recipients will come from right across the LGBTQ+ community – with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender winners taking centre stage and sharing their stories.

“I’m so thrilled to be hosting this year’s Attitude Pride Awards in association with Magnum”, says Dominic. “Having the opportunity to help celebrate such amazing people who are actively striving for queer equality and visibility is a true honour.”

Attitude’s Managing Director, Darren Styles OBE, comments: “Ours is a rainbow community, and the Attitude Pride Awards reflects that in every conceivable sense. Via a record number of nominations and the input of our judging panel, we are privileged to share ten extraordinary stories that – despite everything life can test you with – combine to inspire, uplift, and educate.

The Attitude Magazine Foundation, our registered charity, will use the event to raise funds for LGBTQ+ causes large and small, thanks to the generosity of our headline sponsor, Magnum, and some extraordinary gifted draw prizes from Source Journeys, Bentley, and Lalique.”

Celebrating the new partnership, Magnum Brand Leader Ben Curtis says: “We’re delighted to work as a partner to Attitude to bring to life this year’s Attitude Pride Awards. Being the headline sponsor for this year’s awards is made even more special as we can finally celebrate the most amazing everyday LGBTQ+ heroes in person.

“In a year that has brought yet more challenges and hardship for the LGBTQ+ community globally, never has it been more important to honour the passionate and inspiring people who go out of their way to make an extraordinary difference, large or small, to make the LGBTQ+ community seen and continue to champion the rights of everyone.

“As Magnum, we believe a day without pleasure is a day lost, and that everyone should be able to pursue what brings them pleasure. That’s why, as a brand, we work to enable everyone the freedom and safer space to be true to their pleasure.”

The Attitude July/August issue is out now.
