Luxury car brand DS Automobiles was created in Paris, so it’s no surprise that each and every one of their vehicles has French savour-fare in its DNA.
With their incredible eye for detail, the car makers have taken inspiration from the City of Light, employing techniques found in the French capital’s high-fashion houses, the workshops of luxury watch brands and even the architecture of one of the most famous cities in the world.
The new DS 7 and the DS 4 E-TENSE displays plenty of sleek, smart features, blending cutting edge tech with an air of sophistication that is undeniably Parisian.
DS Automobiles’ signature is their attention to detail. With craftsmanship at their heart, they have gathered experts in their field who employ high-quality materials and processes to achieve a superior finish.
The pearl stitching method used to sew together the seat upholstery, for example, was inspired by Parisian high-fashion ateliers. Unique to the automotive world, the technique took four years to perfect.
Another of their intricate processes is the one behind their ‘Clous de Paris’ guilloche, an engraved pattern of graceful waves and lines usually found in fine watchmaking.
Elsewhere, the leather folding techniques applied to the seating are drawn from a watch strap design — another example of DS Automobiles taking their cue from the world of luxury fashion to create a look that’s sleek and sexy.
