Tom Daley: ‘I would love to get married and have kids’

Tom Daley has revealed that he is keen to settle down and start a family one day, saying: “I would love to get married and have kids.”

The 20-year-old diver talks extensively about his life, diet and training regime in the latest issue of Attitude, his first ever gay press interview, and says that, like any elite athlete, he has “to strike the right balance” between putting in the hours at the pool and spending time with his boyfriend, friends and family.

“I try to make sure I catch up with everyone when I’m back in the UK,” Daley explains, “and when I am not there’s WiFi most places we train and compete so I’m always on Skype or FaceTime or Whatsapp.”

Asked whether he sees himself walking down the aisle one day, Daley replies: “
I do. Family is something that has always been really important to me and yes, at some point I would love to get married and have kids.”
