Ellen DeGeneres has been named the most influential LGBT voice in American culture by Out magazine.
The chatshow host and instigator of the legendary Oscars selfie sits at the top of the annual ‘Power 50’ list compiled by Out, which has the highest circulation of any gay magazine in the US.
“Everybody loves Ellen, and that’s one of the reasons she’s regained the top spot,” Out explains on its website.
“In March, The Ellen DeGeneres Show shattered its own 10-year ratings record in the episode that immediately followed her Academy Awards hosting gig, which also gave the awards its best ratings since 2004.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook places second on Out‘s list, with news anchor Rachel Maddow in third and US Senator Tammy Baldwin in fourth.
