Eastenders’ Jonny Labey shares vile homophobic abuse following onscreen death

By Will Stroude

Former Eastenders star Jonny Labey has been on the receiving end of some particularly vile homophobic trolling and abuse.

The abuse came the day after his character Paul Coker, who was gay, died after an anti-gay attack on  the soap.

The tweet, which reads “you should’ve died in Orlando instead pal” refers to the anti-LGBT terrorist attack in Orlando back in June, which claimed 49 lives.

The actor, who is straight, hit back at the troll, calling on the rest of the Twittersphere to “remind this brave individual that it’s 2016”.
