Ricky Martin is revisiting his roots with a brand new music video for his 2009 hit ‘Vuelve’, bringing the Puerto Rican flair to his 1998 ballad.

Martin, 54, teased in February 2026 that he was bringing new life to one of his classics, posting a behind-the-scenes shot of him on set, captioning the post: “The future is being built.”

Premiering late last month, the Puerto Rican singer released his brand new Vuelve music video, bringing energy reminiscent of Bad Bunny‘s Super Bowl Halftime show.

Martin was one of many stars to make an appearance at the February 2026 American Football extravaganza, joining Bad Bunny for a rendition of ‘Lo que le pasó a Hawái.’

What is Ricky Martin’s ‘Vuelve’ about?

Humorously coincidentally translated to “Come Back,” ‘Vuelve’ is a power ballad by Martin, then 26, about deep longing and heartbreak following a breakup.

The song holds sentimental value to the singer, marking a career milestone as his first record to chart on the US Billboard top 200, peaking at number 40, following his departure from the boy band Menudo.

Nearly 30 years later, Martin decided it was time for a revamp, introducing a cast of professional dancers, vocals from Argentine singer TINI, and Mexican musical group Los Ángeles Azules, rather than his praised solo original music video.

“A project where I’m bringing new life to some of my classic songs” – Martin teasing more classic remakes

Though Martin teased this will not be the only updated music video he remakes, writing in his original BTS Instagram post: “This photo was taken while we were filming the video of a song that will be part of a project where I’m bringing new life to some of my classic songs – honouring where we’ve been.”

“At the same time, I’m deep into a completely new album. New stories. New sounds. New fire,” he continued, revealing a return to creating music.

His last full-length studio album was A Quien Quiera Escuchar in 2015, though he has since released several EP’s including Pausa (May 2020) and Play (July 2022).

Where is Martin touring in 2026?

Martin is currently on his international tour, with recent and upcoming shows heavily focused in Mexico, followed by a European summer leg in June/July, set to bring the ‘Livin’ la Vida Loca’ energy to Croatia, Italy, Czechia, Poland, Georgia, and Turkey.

The 2009 and 2026 ‘Vuelve’ music videos are available to watch now on YouTube. For more information about Martin’s tour, you can visit his Linktree.
