Watch first trailer for new series of ‘The X Factor’

By Nick Levine

Screen Shot 2014-08-01 at 23.47.39The first trailer for the new series of The X Factor has been released.

The minute-long clip sees the four judges – Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Louis Walsh and Mel B – send their troops into battle as they go to war against one another.

“Things are about to get loud,” Mel B warns, before Cowell declares: “It’s time to get down to business.”

The trailer is reported to have cost £1 million to make and was filmed at the world-famous Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, on the same stage as the recent Bond movies.

Last month (July) it was reported that Cowell and The X Factor‘s production team want this year’s show to be “all about camp and fun” – read more here.

Meanwhile, a former member of Girl Thing – the short-lived girlband formed by Cowell in the early noughties – has auditioned for this year’s series. Find out more about her awkward reunion with Cowell in front of the cameras here.

The X Factor will return to ITV later this month (August) at a date to be confirmed. Watch the trailer below.
