UK’s first ever drag karaoke bar to open this month

The Karaoke Hole has been created by the founders of the Dalston Superstore

The UK’s first ever drag karaoke bar is set to open this month!

The founders of East London’s Dalston Superstore are planning to open the brand new karaoke bar, The Karaoke Hole, at the end of the month.

Tucked away on Kingsland High Street in Dalston, The Karaoke Hole will host professional drag queens, as well as amateurs, who are brave enough to stand on the bespoke, disco ball-clad stage.

What’s more, the stage also features strategically-placed wind machines because, well, everyone loves a good wind machine!

From Thursday to Saturday, guests – who are encouraged to dress up every night – will be able to enter the neon-lit lounge and sip on cocktails, including the Total Eclipse and the Dancing Queen.

After 11pm, the party will heat up and the rest of the evening will be devoted to a chaotic, free-for-all karaoke sing-off. Sounds great, right?

To add to the already fun concept, the venue has already secured the likes of Geri Halliwell devotee Just May, Sink the Pink superstar Little Jimmy Johnson and Dalston Superstore’s very own agony aunt Dr Sharon Husbands to grace the stage for one-off evenings.

“We wanted to bring our take on karaoke to Dalston and The Karaoke Hole is the perfect way to bring together the holy trinity of karaoke, drag and glitter under one roof,” said founder Dan Pope.

The Karaoke Hole opens on May 24. Bookings can be made at sing@thekaraokehole.com
